Boise man sentenced to nine years in prison on charges related to child pornography

A U.S. District Court judge on Monday sentenced a Boise man to nine years in prison after police found he had access to thousands of pictures of child pornography along with exploitative videos.

Kristopher McKay pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography on May 2nd. In addition to the nine years in prison, the judge also sentenced McKay to five years of supervised release.

The Idaho Press reports, the sentence is the result of an investigation FBI agents began over a year ago. In March 2017, agents found evidence McKay had used a cloud storage account to trade child pornography with other people, as well as access it for himself.

When police searched McKay’s home in September 2017, they looked through his laptop computer and found 2,941 still images and 1,113 videos depicting child pornography.

McKay later admitted to police he used the email account to trade the pornography with other people.
