According to the USGS, two earthquakes were felt in Idaho Tuesday.
One was in the Challis National Forest around midnight last night with a magnitude 3.0.
The other happened at about 3:39 p.m. east of Grangeville and registered at 4.1.
CBS 2 News reports, Boise State’s seismology lab says the Grangeville earthquake was about eight miles in depth. They say it produced weak ground shaking on the intensity scale as far as Lewiston, and some people in Boise are said to have felt it.
The most prominent fault in the area is the Salmon River fault but it cannot be confirmed if this is the fault that moved.
