CWI Plant Facilities Levy Comes Up Short in Recount

The recount of ballots for the College of Western Idaho plant facilities levy has been completed, and there is no change in results.

The $39 million levy failed in November by 140 votes, so the school administrators requested a recount of the ballots.

Both Ada and Canyon counties voted in the election. CBS 2 News reports, Canyon County finished its recount in late November. The results added seven votes in favor of the levy.

Ada County Chief Deputy Clerk Phil McGrane says Ada County completed its recount Friday, and the recounted ballots show the levy failing by 135 votes.
