16-Year Old Rape Suspect to be Tried in Adult Court

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The 16-year old boy who is accused of taking part in the gang rape of a Kuna woman in early February will be charged and tried as an adult.

According to the Idaho Press, prosecutors have waived 16-year old Ulimwengo Lupango to adult court, to face the rape charge. He could get life in prison if convicted.

The boy is one of four accused of gang raping the 18-year old Kuna woman, in a parked car. Police say the victim met Swedi Iyombelo on social media the day before, and arranged to meet him.

When she got there, the other three — Elias Lupango, Mulanga Rashidi and the boy — were there, too. The four forced the victim to have sex.

She told police later that she was afraid she would be killed if she refused.

All four suspects will be back in court on March 22nd.
