Charges Probably Will Not Be Filed Against Nampa Mother

Nampa (670 KBOI News) – Charges likely won’t be filed against the mother who was at the center of a short-lived Amber alert Wednesday.

According to CBS-2 TV, Brooke Helmandollar and her 10-year old daughter were spotted at a restaurant in Cheney, Washington minutes after the Amber alert went out.

A Nampa PD spokesman said because it was not a non-custodial situation, they didn’t think charges would be appropriate.

The 10-year old girl is in the custody of the Washington Department of Health and Welfare, while Helmandollar’s status is not known.

Details as to why the Amber Alert was issued in the first place are also not known, other than the NPD saying they had reason to believe the child could be in danger.
