Boise River flows reduced to 4,300 cfs by Monday

Any flooding issues in Boise on the greenbelt should be a thing of the past in the next few days.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan to reduce flows through the City of Boise – again – by 1,500 cubic feet per second (cfs) by Monday.

Currently, Boise River flows through town are approximately 5,800 cfs, as measured at the Glenwood Bridge gauge.

Flows will be reduced by 500 cfs each day — starting today (Thursday, May 16) then again on Friday and Monday, reaching approximately 4,300 cfs by late-morning on Monday.

As always, the Boise Fire Department warns you the water is EXTREMELY COLD – and it’s still moving very fast. You should avoid the water until it slows down, and warms up.
