Caldwell Man Arrested in Cold Case Murder

Brian Dripps

Caldwell (670 KBOI News) – A Caldwell man is under arrest, wanted for a 1996 cold case murder in Idaho Falls.

The Idaho Statesman is reporting police arrested Brian Dripps Wednesday, and charged him with first degree murder, in the death of Angie Dodge.

At this morning’s initial court appearance, Dripps was also charged with rape. He’ll be extradited to Bonneville County, where he’ll likely be held without bail.

If convicted, Dripps could be sentenced to death.

In 2017, Christopher Tapp was released from prison, where he served 20 years for Dodge’s death. The Idaho Innocence Project showed that Tapp’s DNA didn’t match samples collected at the crime scene.
