We have storms headed into the area, coupled with high temps and windy conditions, firefighters are on high alert.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the region beginning on Thursday.

The NWS says the red flag warning goes into effect beginning at noon and will go through Friday at 6 a.m.

The first system will move over the area late Thursday into Friday.

The best chance of storms will remain over the higher elevations with an increase in fire danger due to lightning strikes.
