Victim identified after fatal boating accident in Salmon Falls Reservoir

Twin Falls Search and Rescue found the body of a man reported missing after a boat capsized in the Salmon Falls Reservoir, Friday morning.

The man is identified as 80-year-old Dr. Eugene Holm of Heyburn.

CBS 2 News reports, the initial call of a capsized boat came in at around 9:55 a.m. Friday.

Twin Falls Search and Rescue were able to find one of the fisherman, who was airlifted to Air St. Luke’s and taken to St. Luke’s Magic Valley, but the boat and the other man were still missing.

Emergency crews eventually found the boat using sonar, Friday night, marked the location with a buoy, and ended the search for that day.

Saturday, the search started again and ended when the body was found.

Emergency crews are still trying to retrieve the boat.
