Copper wire thieves hit Elmore County pump station

 

Vandals have ripped out enough copper wiring to cause damages in excess of $100,000 to an Elmore County pump-station.

Deputies from the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office responded to a rural part of the county for a report of vandalism on Saturday.

When they arrived, a deputy found a large amount of copper electrical wire had been stolen from a pump-station that services one of the largest farming operations in the county. The damages are reported to be over $100,000.

CBS 2 News reports, Detectives are following leads and have discovered this incident may be related to other copper wire thefts.

This investigation is on-going.
