Former Fruitland police officer pleads guilty to four felonies

 

A former Fruitland police officer initially charged with eight sex crimes against children in Payette County reached a deal with prosecutors and has pleaded guilty to four felonies.

Alexander Plaza, was arrested in September on charges that covered alleged abuse between October 2017 and June 2019.

The Idaho Statesman reports Plaza pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual battery of a child ages 16 or 17 and one count of sexual abuse of a child younger than age 16.

Each charge is punishable by up to 25 years in prison. He is set for sentencing on March 20 in Payette County.
