Garden City man remains behind bars in Murder case

A Garden City man accused of killing his uncle Sunday was in court yesterday, but remains in jail on a $5 million bond.

Emerson Buck is charged with second-degree murder, the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a crime, and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

The Idaho Press reports, Police and prosecutors believe Buck killed his uncle, James Buck, with an “unknown sharp instrument.”

In court, police said Emerson and James Buck may have had an “ongoing dispute.” Emerson Buck ran from officers when they came to question him about the killing, but when officers did catch up to him, they say he had blood on his hands, pants, socks and in his pockets.

Emerson Buck is next scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29 for a preliminary hearing.
