Two people died Tuesday in what police believe is a murder, suicide in Garden Valley.

Idaho State Police troopers assisted Boise County Deputies with a disturbance and shots fired at a home in Garden Valley.

Police say the original call reported a mother and son, who lived at the residence, had been fighting. The report also said a gun had been fired more than once.

Besides the mother and son, there were two other adults and one juvenile who were also inside when the shots were fired. They were all able to leave safely.

Police went inside the home and found the two people reported to be involved in the domestic dispute.

The adults were identified as Helen and Joshua Beckwith. Based on evidence at the scene, ISP troopers believe Joshua shot Helen and then shot himself.
