34th Street Market gets the go ahead from Garden City officials

The Garden City City Council added more conditions to the conditional use permit for the 34th Street Market, but eventually gave the market the go-ahead after over an hour of deliberation.

The 34th Street Market is a seasonal Wednesday market that will operate near the Boise River Greenbelt on 34th Street from 5-9 p.m. from June through October. Capital City Public Market, which operates the farmers market on Eighth Street in Boise, will run the market. The space will also serve as an event space from Thursday through Sunday.

Some council members raised concerns about the sale of alcohol at the market, but were eventually persuaded to allow it.

The Idaho Press reports, there is no set open date yet, but the third Wednesday in June is the target date.
