Motorcycle Crash Leads to Arrest

Early Thursday morning, a man was taken into custody for felony vehicular manslaughter following a motorcycle crash.

Idaho State Police say around 12:30 a.m. Apollo Martinez of Caldwell, and his passenger, Carla Rosas of Nampa were traveling eastbound on Cherry Lane on a motorcycle, when Martinez failed to negotiate the curve at Middleton Road.

Rosas died from her injuries at the scene, Martinez was taken by ambulance to a Nampa hospital. Neither were wearing helmets.

ISP says alcohol is believed to be a factor, and after being released from the hospital, Martinez was arrested, and is being charged with vehicular manslaughter, as well as resisting arrest.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
