Woodhead Fire Now 40% Contained 20 Miles North of Cambridge

 

The Woodhead fire that has prompted evacuations and road closures is now 40 percent contained as of Monday night.

The Adams County Dispatch says the fire has jumped into Adams County and further evacuations have been issued.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says two evacuations are now issued from Wildhorse, Ditch Creek and Bear and there will be door to door notifications.

Officials still don’t know how the Woodhead Fire started, but it has burned aproximately 49,000 acres 20 miles north of Cambridge.

The fire started Sept. 7th. The closure on Highway 71 has been lifted.
