Boise State Says To Expect Job and Operations Cuts

Boise State President Marlene Tromp said in a memo this week to the university community to expect job and operations cuts thanks to the coronavirus wreaking havoc on the university’s budget.

Tromp did not say how many job cuts there could be or when they could be announced. But some may be occurring sooner rather than later.

The Boise State athletic department for one will be hard-pressed. CBS 2 News reports, the university anticipates losses ranging between $10 million and $15 million, even with the savings generated by the absence of travel and other costs for competitions.

Those losses could be much greater if the University does not have football this season.
