Buck Fire now 33% contained

The Buck Fire, burning 7 miles south of Yellow Pine is still burning, and is now 33% contained.

Fire officials say the temperature drop over the weekend combined with the moisture put a lot of water on the fire area.

Fire managers have modified the area of closures that are in place for firefighter and public safety. The new closures will be in place through Oct. 31, unless rescinded earlier.

Officials say the Buck fire was started by lightning on August 26th. 149 firefighters are currently working the blaze including 3 helicopter crews.
