Halloween on Harrison Boulevard will continue this year

A widely popular tradition on Harrison Boulevard will look a little different this year.

Typically, thousands of children descend upon Harrison Boulevard to go trick-or-treating. The street is typically closed through a special event permit.

The North End Neighborhood Association tells CBS 2 News that Harrison Boulevard will remain open Oct 31st.

In addition, the association is starting the first-ever North End Halloween Tour (an opportunity for families to check out spooky decorations and participate in scavenger hunts) ahead of Halloween.

The walking tour will be held Oct. 23-30.

The association says residents along the street and elsewhere in the North End will “decide for themselves” whether they are comfortable handing out candy on Halloween, and they expect many houses will participate.
