Idaho’s Capitol Christmas Tree Now on Display

Idaho’s Capitol Christmas tree was cut Monday morning and placed at the Statehouse.

This year’s tree was donated by Doug Cobb. The tree was on Hazel Street in Boise’s North End, before being donated.

Governor Little says we will forego a formal Capitol Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, but is inviting everyone to spend time together at the Idaho State Capitol viewing the beautiful décor and Christmas Tree.

The relocation process was a joint effort. The Idaho Department of Lands cut and rigged the tree for lifting, Boise Crane loaded it, and the Idaho Transportation Department hauled the tree to its destination at the Statehouse. Boise City Police provided the escort.

The Idaho Department of Administration’s Facility Services crew will begin stringing thousands of LED lights on the tree starting today. (tuesday)
