Road crews will open up a single lane of alternating traffic in the Smiths Ferry area along Highway 55 on Friday.
ITD says the opening will start at about 8 a.m. on Friday but the regular closures will happen again Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as construction crews blast.
The March 15th rockslide has put a dent in many traveler’s plan and forced some to use the longer Highway 95 route.
From April 2 through mid-May, the road will be closed Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and open to one lane of alternating traffic with a 15-minute delay outside of the closure hours.
