Boise Cop Recovering After Being Hit by Suspect’s Car

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The Boise Police Department is asking for your help in finding a person of interest in an assault on an officer early this morning on the Bench.

Lieutenant Steve Butler says it happened near the intersection of Vista and Spaulding, when an officer pulled a driver over for a traffic stop. The driver then rammed the officer, and drove off.

He says they got security camera pictures of a women in the car, from a nearby convenience store.

“The photograph, we believe, is a female who was an occupant of the vehicle at the time,” said Butler.  “So we are  asking for the public’s help in identifying her, or requesting that she contact the police, so we can discuss the investigation with her.”

The officer was taken to the hospital, but has since been released and is expected to make a full recovery.
