Fulcher: No Taxpayer Dollars used in mailer that violated House franking rules

 

Idaho 1st District Congressman Russ Fulcher sent out a mailer described as an “Official Congressional Survey” to 120,000 Idaho residents, but the mass mailing violated House franking rules by going to thousands of Idahoans who don’t live in his district.

While the franking privilege lets members of Congress send mailings to their constituents in their districts at taxpayer expense — within certain rules — they’re not allowed to send them to residents of other districts.

However, the mailer will not cost any taxpayer dollars, as was previously believed.  Russ Fulcher spoke to 670 KBOI to discuss what happened, and explain.  Hear what he had to say in the audio link below.
