Roads Close Tuesday for This Weekend’s X Games in Downtown Boise

Boise (670 KBOI News) – The X Games Qualifying Round is this weekend, but some of the streets around Rhodes Skate Park in downtown Boise will be closed down starting Tuesday evening, about 6:30.

Haley Williams with the Boise Police Department says they’re the same roads that usually get shut down for the X Games, mostly between 14th and 16th, and Grove and Front.

“Because we have so much equipment that needs to get brought in for this event,” said Williams.  “There are a lot of bleachers and equipment, and cleaning, and other additions that need to be added to that area, to make it ready to go for Friday and Saturday.”

Friday will be the qualifying round, with the elimination round Saturday. Events include BMX, as well as Men’s and Women’s skateboarding. Friday after the competition, there will be a wheelchair BMX demonstration.
