There will be no school for all grades in the West Ada School District on Tuesday after 440 teachers called in sick.
This cancellation includes no in-person or remote learning, according to West Ada.
The same thing happened Monday after 652 teachers called in sick, leaving 500 unfilled positions.
The sick-out was spurred after the school district board voted in favor of a hybrid schedule. Teachers believe their voices aren’t being heard when it comes to decision making during the pandemic.
The West Ada Education Association also says it’s taking a firm stance that all learning should be remote while the district is still in the red category (per Central District Health).
Free meals will still be provided for students from 10:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at many school locations. You have to order before 7 a.m. using a form on West Ada’s Website.
