Saint Alphonsus mammography unit has a new bus

 

Saint Alphonsus has a new ride for its mammography unit.

The hospital on Monday unveiled its new 40-foot long bus that contains the latest 3D technology.

Odette Bolano, president and CEO of Saint Alphonsus Health System says their mission is to be a transforming healing presence in the communities they serve, and that includes taking services out to where the people live, which include many rural cities and towns in Idaho, Oregon and Nevada.

KIVI TV reports, the hospital used proceeds from the 2019 Festival of Trees and to purchase the new bus .

They call they new bus “Stella” – and the technology onboard helps workers “detect small cancers and masses hidden in dense breast tissue much earlier than using standard 2D technology.
